this site is built with Astro and served as plain html — almost nothing runs in your browser except the game-of-life widget, the skin switcher, and the ctrl k palette.

• type — Hanken Grotesk for reading, JetBrains Mono for the machinery.
• skins — "lab notebook" (warm orange on layered near-black) and "catppuccin garden" (mocha + mauve). one skeleton, two coats of paint.
• garden — notes link with wikilinks; backlinks are computed at build time. nothing is hydrated.
• tooling — bun for everything npm-shaped, and an unreasonable number of screenshots.

design owes a debt to the small-web corners of the internet: 88×31 badges, webrings, and personal sites that feel like someone actually lives there.
